About Brendan

Dear Neighbor,

My name is Brendan Banks and I’m running for Crystal City Council in
Ward 2. My wife Jaalisa and I live in the Fair neighborhood with our
five children.

I’m running for city council because I want to continue serving my community. My service has spanned for most of my life — including JROTC in high school, a volunteer firefighter in college, a police officer in career life, a little league baseball coach as a parent as well as various civic groups for the past 15 years.

Crystal is made up of families from many cultures and backgrounds to which I can relate to both personally and professionally.  My family and I love living in Crystal and I want to contribute to helping keep our community strong.

I hope to earn your vote!

Issues

Connected Community

Connected Community

The strongest communities are those where the residents feel connected to one another, and to the city. I have experience in building connected communities through my background in law enforcement and work with local non-profits and the faith community.

Responsible Budgets

Responsible Budgets

Our families all have to live within our means. The city should be the same.

The city’s budget comes from the residents who live here, and we need to make sure that our city budget reflects our values, while respecting our family budgets.

A Safe City

A Safe City

We all want to feel safe and secure in our homes, at our parks, and while we work and shop. Our world is changing, and we need to change and adapt with it.

My background in law enforcement and community building makes me uniquely suited to help keep Crystal safe.
